LOKI

This stunning lad was signed over to the RSPCA after his owners were unable to cope with him. He is a typical young dog who is full of energy and will require owners who have time to spend giving him lots of mental stimulation.
Loki's previous owners said that he had bitten on one occasion. We believe this was a provoked incident where Loki felt the need to defend himself. We will explain this incident in more detail with potential new owners. Loki is a sensitive dog who sometimes needs emotional support from his people. He shows very clear behaviours when he is uncomfortable since being in our care and has shown a preference to avoid such situations.
Loki was nervous on arrival at our centre but he soon made friends with his carers. Due to his history and initial nervous nature with us, he will need patient owners that live relatively local to our centre and willing to come up to the animal centre multiple times to visit him prior to taking him home. New owners will need to get to know Loki and be able to recognise signs of him feeling anxious so they are able to remove him from these situations. Our team will advise on this.
Loki is very big and strong but he does generally walk to heel. He knows many basic commands and has a good recall. Loki has also been trained to wear a muzzle and wears this comfortably, we advise new owners to use this in situations where Loki is likely to feel nervous ie vet visits or highly populated areas.
Loki loves other dogs and we would like to find him a home with an existing neutered dog. He does require an adult home due to his history and would suit a household that receives very few visitors as this could possibly make him feel uneasy.
Loki requires a fully secure private garden with 6ft fencing where he can safely run off lead and enjoy some freedom.
Loki has lots of potential and will make a fun new family member.
